Traditional etching and relief printing is slow, compliated, and can be hazardous with the use of grounds, acids, and solvents. Solarplate etching is an alternative to this traditional technique and is usually exposed with the use of an U.V. Light source such as the sun or an exposure unit. Once exposed, it is developed with ordinary tap water; making it a much easier and safer process for the printmaker.
