This striking marbled tabby has a very intense and charming personality. She was rescued as a stray so we don't know her parentage, but she has the character traits of a Bengal -- highly intelligent, affectionate, and curious. She develops a very close relationship with her person, almost more like a dog than a cat. In fact, she loves to play fetch! She needs a home where she's the only pet, and preferably with someone who does not travel too much. She is used to an all-adult home and she's been kept totally indoors.

She is spayed, current on vaccines, and has been tested for FeLV & FIV (neg/neg). She's around 6 years old. There will be screening to insure that her new home is a good match. I focus on "everyday people with extraordinary stories" and I aim to go in depth to really learn about who you are, what you do, and why you do it. If you have an extraordinary story, please contact me.

What qualifies as an extraordinary story? It could be some amazing accomplishment, an unusual job or hobby, or a unique/odd experience that you've had. It could also be a mental illness or extreme copying mechanism. Examples of guests I've had include: transgendered person, anorexic, convict in prison for DWI, competitive eater, had near-death experience, someone with only 1 leg, a dwarf, victim of sexual abuse, guy who ran 63 marathons in 63 days, and many more.

Guests I'd love to have on the show include (but are NOT limited to): porn star, freegan, drag queen, someone with AIDs, bulimic, people who've been in prison for various reasons, etc. I can't even begin to think of all the possibilities, so if you think you've got a great story to tell, let me know about it!

I placed my black Mini schnauzer in what I thought was a good home.She may be a groomer also in the Salado/Temple area. I did not charge a fee because you craigslisters flag you if you do. She had the gall to take the dog and sale her for $200. This is the best part, she has been beaten and mistreated too! Luckly I didn't give her the papers and luckily Makensie was still wearing her Rabies tag from my vet. The new owner contact my vet and then contacted me.

Beward of this person!!! Do not let people take your pet without a Vet reference and a re-homing fee. Do not give over AKC papers either until they have had the dog for at least a 6 month period to insure the resale.

Please learn from my mistake. Please do not flag me, I am just trying to help others.

I got Atticus as a puppy and he has already grown up quite a bit. He has a lot of energy and loves to run and play. But, I don't have enough time or space in my little house for this energetic guy. I have two mixed breed dogs, a male and a female, that I love very much but unfortunately I must find a good new home for them. Cody is a male, 5 years old, 90 lbs, black in color, a boxer black lab mix, very sweet, great with kids, highly trainable (he's a good listener), neutered. Emma is a female, about 50 lbs, pointy ears, brindle colored, energetic, very sweet, great with kids, she's the daughter of my male and she is spayed. Both dogs are good with guests, have been trained to not jump on people. They often bark at new people at first but warm up quickly. They are protective of the family, will bark at new people until they know them...but they've never bitten anyone. I love my dogs very much but financially I can't support them they way that they deserve. It is vitally important to me that they go to a home where they will be exercised regularly, taken on walks or out to the park for a run several times per week. If you are the kind of person that goes to the hike and bike trail a lot, they would be a good fit. They are very accustomed to regular exercise and are in very good physical condition. If you are wanting a pet to have around your house they are not for you. I will be interviewing those who are interested at my house and will expect to be able to see where they will be living sometime after the interview. I love my dogs very much and will be very selective about where they will go. It breaks my heart to do this but I'm doing it for their sake and for mine. They have been around each other their whole lives since Cody is Emma's daddy so it would be wonderful if someone would like to have them as a pair. I think it's important for dogs to have other doggie friends so I may hesitate to give them to someone who doesn't have any other pets and works a lot. I would not care to give them to someone who would leave them home alone for long periods of time. I think you can tell from the detail of this post that these dogs are very important to me. What type of programs are on the provider database?

Where do you get the provider�s information?

We get the name and address of licensed/registered programs from the Child Care Licensing
website. When learn about camps/exempt programs by word of mouth, usually from parents.

We ask the programs if they want to be on our database. We do this by sending a letter and data collection forms to the program. Once complete, the program returns the forms, and then they are added to our database. There is no cost for you to be on our database. It�s FREE advertising!

Do you have every registered/licensed program on the database?

No. Through recruitment, we strive to add every program we can. However, some programs choose not to be on our database. We have 90-95% of the registered/licensed programs on our database.

Do you charge a fee for programs to be on the database?

No. We simply ask that programs help us keep their information current. We have almost 1500 programs on our database. Whenever time allows, we call or e-mail programs to get an update. We try to update a sampling of programs everyday. Ideally, we update each program two times per year. A Summer Puppetry Theater workshop for 20 kids ages 12 to 16 from the community at large. 15 slots will be offered free of charge to kids who fit the income criteria. The remaining 5 slots will be offered on a sliding scale on a case by case basis. that income will be used to purcase additional supplies. Over the course of the workshop the kids will learn to design puppets from recycled items, experience scriptwriting, stage design, voiceover, and three forms of puppetry, Shadow, Blacklight, and Bunraku. The end of the program culminates with them showing off there new skills with 3 free shows open to the entire Austin Communty that will be held at our new theater space, or at a larger venue if we can stimulate enough interest to find someone to donate their space. The show itself is an original piece entitled �The Tribe of Two.� The premise is simple, from the time that humans began to speak of the beginning, a common thread was woven tightly through each of their tales. No matter what the belief, culture, or circumstance these story tellers would always start their tales with, �In the beginning there were two�� The story is a blend of folklore from different cultures and the kids themselves will help write some of the more important aspects of the narration and stage action. Through a series of vignettes utilizing the different puppetry forms �the Tribe of Two� will show how the earth evolved, plants, animals of land and sea and of course humankind. Showing how the original two became millions and more importantly how the millions came to forget that they all are direct decedents of the original two. Tribe�s goal is to show that in this time of social upheaval and destruction over each others differences; we should really be looking at what we all have in common; in a way that excepts all social, political, and religious beliefs. It is our hope that this program will not only give the kids a look into a wonderful and ancient art form but also a better understanding of how changes can be made to better the world around them.

Cancer Connection (formerly CanCare Austin) is a growing network of cancer survivors and their family members providing emotional support in a variety of ways to those currently living with cancer. We have partnered with the Lance Armstrong Foundation to place volunteers in area St. David�s and Seton hospitals. Our volunteers can also be found in the infusion rooms at Southwest Regional Cancer Center and Texas Oncology, providing emotional support for cancer patients and their families.

Cancer Connection also needs volunteers to participate in one-on-one matching with those persons and their family members currently living with cancer. Yes, there are 7 in the Austin and Surrounding Areas. The parent has to pay twice the amount, but Yes there are some around Austin. I work for a temp agency that sends us all the time to these places. Most families are unwilling to pay this, since it would be better just to call in, but doctor's and surgeons use this service DAILY.

I am a listed home daycare and I only charge 100.00 per week per child. Now, I understand where you are all coming from however, dont badmouth those of us who are doing it right and are charging a cheaper rate. I used to be a "corporate mom" and it was tough to pay for quality care. So, I made the impossible, possible. My children have a daily schedule, which right now, they are sleeping, all of them! They are all getting prepared for preschool and take home something EVERYDAY!! I have 2- 4yr olds that are ready for kindergarten and still have to wait another school year. Is it tough??? Heck yea! I have to agree that it isn't really a big deal. 3 or 4 dirty diapers a day is normal for some children, I think. My son has 3 dirty diapers a day and doesn't eat prunes. It has always been that way since he started taking in more than just breast-milk. You can't tell a parent not to feed their child prunes just because you dislike the effects. Prunes are a nutritious fruit and it is great that the parent isn't afraid to give the child a variety of less common food. Most parents don't. Good for them!!

Last night at 1AM we found a very friendly black female cat with no collar. She has a droopy tummy and is quite underweight, which tells me she either had a huge litter of kittens or was fat and then abandoned/lost. Doesn't look like she has a litter now so I'm gonna say she was lost. We put a collar on her with a note and left food out for her. And this afternoon she returned with the collar and the note untouched. So I can't just leave her outside.
Interesting thing about her is that she suckles as if she's nursing on your elbow. She is VERY affectionate. I cannot keep her and will try to find another home for her if I can't find the original owners.
I live in Hunter's Chase apartments which border a couple other complexes around McNeil & 183 off of Pond Springs.

Found Terrier at Anderson Mill Apts (NW Austin)

When the storm started tonight a terrier dog (male, white & reddish/tan, red collars) ran to our fence for cover. Unfortunately, no one has responded to my ad that was the owner of this particular dog. I tried to keep him at my place, and then my mother's, but he was aggressive toward our dogs and wanted to mate with the girls. He is sweet as pie when not around other dogs. We had to take the dog to the Town Lake Shelter as they were the only place that would take him. He looks sort of like a wire fox terrier...but I'm not sure because he appears to be a little smaller. I hope someone claims him, he is a very sweet little dog who has had a rough night. The dog's photo is is also up on Town Lake Shelter's website. His ID # is A507576 and they say he is a Jack Russell Terrier Mix. Why hasn't the owner claimed this dog yet? It's been since Friday night that he has gone missing. Truly sad.

If Hillary could run exclusively on her record since becoming a senator from New York, she'd be a relatively moderate Democrat who hates the loony left -- as we found out this week when a tape of Hillary denouncing Moveon.org surfaced. Think Joe Biden in a pantsuit.

But because of her unfortunate marriage, Hillary comes with a cast of undesirables like James Carville, Paul Begala, Terry McAuliffe, Joe Conason -- and of course Bill Clinton, along with his trusted impeachment manager Larry Flynt. Buy one, get the entire dirt-bag collection free!Continued

No one wants those people back.

Even semi-respectable Democrats look sleazy by their association with the Clintons. No serious Democrat defended Clinton over his "presidential kneepads" incident with Monica Lewinsky. OK, that's not including adult film star Ron Jeremy, if you consider him a serious Democrat. Which I do.

That's why cable TV producers had to call in the O.J. defenders to flack for Clinton during his impeachment. Any Democrats still clinging to Hillary at this point appear to be soulless climbers desperate for jobs in the next administration.

So repellent are Bill Clinton's friends (to the extent that a sociopathic sex offender with a narcissistic disorder can actually experience friendship in the conventional sense) that B. Hussein Obama's association with a raving racist reverend and a former member of the Weather Underground hasn't caused as much damage as it should.

On one hand, Obama pals around with terrorists. On the other hand, Hillary pals around with James Carville. Advantage: Obama.

Asked why he would be friends with the likes of Weatherman Bill Ayers, Obama said: "The notion that ... me knowing somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago, when I was 8 years old, somehow reflects on me and my values doesn't make much sense."

That's a slick answer -- even "Clintonian"! -- but the problem is, Ayers and his Weatherman wife, Bernadine Dohrn, won't stop boasting about their days as Weathermen.

It's not simply that they haven't repented. To the contrary, those were their glory days! And Ayers isn't just someone who lives in the neighborhood: He and Dohrn were there at the inception of Obama's political career, hosting a fundraiser for Obama at their home back in 1995.

Besides wanton violence, including a dozen bombings of buildings such as the Pentagon, the U.S. Capitol, historic statues and various police stations, the Weathermen's "revolutionary" activity consisted primarily of using the word "motherf-----" a lot, dropping LSD, coming up with cutesy phrases -- like "the Weather Underground" -- and competing over who could make the most offensive statements in public. (I also believe Dohrn may have set the North American record for longest stretch without bathing.)

At one rally, Dohrn famously praised the Manson family for murdering Sharon Tate and others, shouting: "Dig it. First they killed those pigs, then they ate dinner in the same room with them. They even shoved a fork into a victim's stomach! Wild!"

In a better country, just saying "Dig it!" in public would get you 20 years in the slammer.
Dohrn has recently tried to clarify her Manson remarks by saying it was some sort of "statement" about violence in society and, furthermore, that she said it while under sniper fire in Bosnia. Also recently, the members of the Manson family have distanced themselves from Ayers and Dohrn.

At other rallies, Dohrn said, "Bring the revolution home, kill your parents -- that's where it's at."

After a Chicago Democratic official, Richard Elrod, became paralyzed while fighting with a privileged looter during the Weathermen's "Days of Rage," Dohrn led the Weathermen in a song sung to the tune of Bob Dylan's "Lay Lady Lay":

You thought you could stop the Weatherman

Only because of a merciful God is the author of that ditty, Ted Gold, not teaching at Northwestern or the University of Illinois now, alongside Dohrn or Ayers. That's because Gold is no longer with us, having accidentally blown himself up with a bomb intended for a dance at Fort Dix for new recruits and their dates.

While trying to assemble the bomb at an elegant Greenwich Village townhouse that belonged to one of the revolutionaries' fathers, the bungling Weathermen blew up the entire townhouse, killing Gold and two other butterfingered revolutionaries. Leave it to these nincompoops to turn their glorious Marxist revolution into an "I Love Lucy" sketch.

So in addition to being stupid and violent, the Weathermen were also incompetent terrorists. Would that Timothy McVeigh had been so inept!

If he had only said he bombed the building in Oklahoma City to protest American "imperialism," McVeigh, too, could be teaching at Northwestern University, sitting on a board with and holding fundraisers for presidential candidate B. Hussein Obama.

About 5 months ago, my husband and I took in 3 feral kittens. Over the course of this time, the kittens have endeared themselves to us, but alas with a baby on the way it is time to find them a good home with loving parents.
We worked with the Austin Feral Cat Society, who graciously fixed the kittens for us. Each kitten has a distinct personality and I'm positive with a little extra TLC all of them will make great pets.
Blackie: An all black male kitten, he's got a heart of gold and you can tell only wants a master to love him just as much as he's willing to love. He willingly walks up to you to be petted and scratched behind his ears. I suspect he'll make a fantastic indoor companion/lap cat.
Bobbi: A female tabby cat, Bobbi is very sleek, funny and intelligent. Bobbi is a huge purrer and will walk up to you and let you pet her occasionally, but she'll need a little TLC to fully warm up to you. She’s also very attached to Blackie and at times can be over protective of him. If you're looking for two kittens Bobbi and Blackie would be a perfect pair. You'll melt when you see them together. As an alone kitten, Bobbi would make a good indoor/outdoor cat.
Guinness: An orange and black female kitten, Guinness is the most aloof of the bunch, but she has a huge personality. Guinness isn't a scaredy cat, but she's not a lap cat either, basically she's fiercely independent. She also LOVES to play with any type of kitten toy--micey, bouncing balls, crinkle sticks, etc.—and happily puts on a show for you. If you lead a busy life, Guinness might be the kitten for you. She'd probably best adapt to an indoor/outdoor situation.
ALL the kittens are litter trained, free of worms and have been spayed/neutered and received their rabies & distemper shots.

Attention U.S. Voters: Federal Decriminalization of Marijuana!

For the first time in 24 years, a new bill was proposed today that would end the federal authority to arrest adults for marijuana possession, in effect leaving this decision to individual states, just as it had been for 161 years up until 1937.

This bill [H.R. 5843 - The Personal Use of Marijuana by Responsible Adults Act of 2008], was introduced by US Congressman Barney Frank (D-MA) and co-sponsored by presidential candidate Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX), and seeks to eliminate all federal penalties prohibiting the personal use and possession of up to 100 grams (3.5 ounces) of marijuana. Under this measure, adults who consume cannabis would no longer face arrest, prison, or even the threat of a civil fine. The bill also eliminates all penalties for the not-for-profit transfers of up to one ounce of pot.

The bill incorporates the basic recommendations of the National Commission on Marijuana and Drug Abuse (also known as the Shafer Commission), which was implemented by Richard Nixon, but the scientific results and recommendations of which Nixon chose to ignore. Instead he promoted one of the longest, most expensive and socially damaging wars - a war on the American public - the War on Drugs.

If you believe as I do, that the federal government has no business prohibiting an individual's right to choose what they put into their bodies (particularly when that substance is proven to cause less physical and social harm than other commonly enjoyed substances such as alcohol), I urge you to take just a moment to write and call your representative on this matter.

Does such a place exist? I have years of experience, have been with my current school for 4 years, but even with the tuition discount, I am having a hard time making ends meet.
