College coursework or previous experience related to the field of interest and/or experience working with children with disabilities is/are also helpful for these positions. GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Applicants may apply to be a substitute for any type of position at TSBVI, including, but not limited to, Resident Specialist, Teacher Aide, Teacher, LVN, Nurse, Transportation Escort or Driver, Cook, Groundskeeper, or Custodian. After applying, applications will be reviewed in either the department requested, the department that best fits the previous experience of the applicant, or the department with the most needs for substitute. All substitute applicants will be required to attend a Substitute Information and Interview Session. If you are selected to be a substitute, you must attend New Employee Orientation. As a substitute, you will be called on an as needed basis only; work hours are not specified or guaranteed.
