Austin Neuro Linguistic Programming Meetup

Austin NLP is dedicated to fostering the study and use of NLP in the Central Texas region. The tools of NLP help people achieve excellence in all areas of life -- from sports to business, relationships to making powerful personal changes.

We meet at least twice each month (often much more!) to practice, study and learn from one another. We have regular events focused on NLP and hypnosis.

We started meeting in 2003.

"Lie to Me" Discussion Night

This will be a different kind of meetup -- it'll be a discussion night! We'll talk about the TV show "Lie to me." We'll talk about "calibration," the NLP term for recognizing facial expressions, gestures, voice differences, and other subtle details and correlating those details with people's behaviors and emotions. We'll also talk about common questions related to the show, and hear from you about what you think about all this!

Dr. Cal Lightman (Tim Roth) is the world's leading deception expert. If you lie to Lightman, he'll see it in your face and your posture, or hear it in your voice. If you shrug your shoulder, rotate your hand, or even just slightly raise your lower lip, Lightman will spot the lie.
