I am looking for a place for my mother who is 70 years old. Do not let the number fool you...she is still very active and able and has all of her cognitive abilities. She wants to remain independent to some degree so having her 'own place' is important to her. She is moving from my brother's in Maryland to Austin in the next week. I realize that depending on the amount of laundry/ironing work that you would have, I might be required to pay some over the exchange for the room. Hi, I'm moving back to Austin in March (transferring with my job) and am looking to relocate to the northwest part of town, around Cedar Park.

I'm not the neatest guy in the world, mainly because I tend to get distracted easily. I have an online business selling trading card games in addition to my day job, and I'm also trying to start up a business that involves producing and hosting game shows for conventions and corporate events. Like I said, easily distracted.

I don't smoke and am not good with pets (mainly because of the tons and tons of trading cards I keep around for my online business) but I am a drinker (but not a fiend). Chances are pretty good that I'll be working overnights so will be sleeping during the majority of the day and working on my businesses on my days off. Don't worry, if game show music makes your ears bleed, I'm more than capable of programming with headphones on.

Bonus points if you're into anime (Japanese cartoons) or video gaming, as I have quite the collection of newer systems and I've got a computer full of stuff to watch.

I'm 34 but am young at heart. I am financially responsible but don't have anyone or anything tying me down, so after the bills are paid I don't mind treating myself. I've never missed a rent payment in fifteen years of living on my own, so you won't have to worry about that (even if you do have to occasionally remind me to take out the trash).

The Internet is a moneymaker for me so you've definitely got to have high-speed internet access, wired or wireless. A decent-sized closet would be preferred, as while I have a nice steel set of shelves for the majority of my card collection, I'll probably need some closet space for the rest of it. I have a queen-sized bed, desk, entertainment center and two sets of bookshelves. If all of that can't fit in the room and leave enough to walk around in, let me know and I'll have to lose the bed and invest in a full-size.

I don't really cook; I tend to buy ingredients and then forget I have them until it's too late to do anything edible with them.

I'm looking to pay somewhere in the neighborhood of $400 to $500 with all bills paid. I'm looking at my move to Austin as a money-saving venture in an area that is much more amenable to both my lifestyle and the chances for making both of my side businesses successful so I can eventually lose the day job. Should that happen, I of course will prioritize paying bills before anything else.

I have a car, so a place to park it is a no-brainer.

Very colorful little town with lots of art events. It's 5000 ft high, often windy, mostly blue skies and has a fascinating rainy season with daily thunderstorms, temps lowering into the 60's at night with very comfortable breezy summer days.
An outdoor pool situated on top of the city is open during the summer months and truly is the closest thing to paradise. It is never crowded. Similar to Stacy pool.
It's windy and cool now, but mostly blue skies all the way through June, with a 3 months rainy season starting usually July 4th through September.
Farmer's market, interesting stores and galleries, some good restaurants and lots of very colorful people.

2 professional adults will be moving to Austin in the next month. The first will arrive next week, and the second will arrive at the beginning of the new year. We are looking for a place to rent--house or apartment, doesn't matter. We plan to be in Austin for at least a year. In a perfect world, our new place would have a fenced yard, be in south Austin, cost under $1k/month and be owned by an artist or architect type or really any average person -- just not a company. Almost all of the apartment advertisements I've seen so far are for McApartment complexes with management companies and realtors, etc and we'd both just rather deal with a person than a company and avoid the whole complex thing. We don't swim in the pool, use the exercise gym or club room or any of the amenities these places come with anyway! :)
We both have decent credit and decent rental history, we are both gainfully employed, we are quiet and don't have parties, play loud music, have loud fights or any other nonsense. The police never show up at our place. We work a lot of long hours and are basically computer nerds. We have a medium sized dog (beagle mix/mutt) and a small cat, and take care of both such that they are not destructive. (Yes, when we take the dog out for a walk, we do clean up after the dog - every time). We are responsible and nice, and just don't want to deal with a lot of the bureaucracy and 40 pages of by-laws that come with renting from a complex or company. We like our living space to be reasonably nice, we take reasonably good care of things, pay our rent on time, and typically leave things as good or better than we found them. If you or somebody you know is looking for renters like us, please email me. We are looking to sign a lease and get moved in sometime within the next 2 weeks.

Our apartment-selecting guidelines are:
1. Must have a dishwasher.
2. Apartment needs to allow pets.
3. No pet rent. Pre-charging for damage that may or may not occur is not cool. A larger than average deposit is fair, as long as it's refundable if there is no damage.
4. Owner needs to be a decent human being.

I love to cook and bake - usually offer to share, and will ALWAYS offer if you're the type to throw in a few bucks for a big dinner or help with the dishes afterward. I don't have any pets, but don't mind living with them and helping take care of them in non-financial ways. I don't smoke cigarettes, don't mind if you do as long as it's not inside, that's too tempting haha. Very 420-friendly.
