Advanced Piano Instruction
Instructor: Brett Bachus 60 minute lesson - $75 - Registration fee is $35. - Tuition is payable by the month, in advance. Brett Bachus LLCM LTCL ALCM ALCM (TD) DipLCM (TD) is a native Texan and a nationally acclaimed pianist. Mr. Bachus is known for his mastery of the keyboard with an extensive repertoire list. A versatile, dynamic, and sensitive virtuoso, he frequently performs in solo recitals, chamber ensembles, and as guest artist with orchestras. He has appeared on television and several notable radio programs including John Aielli’s Eklektikos on KUT locally here in Austin.
Mr. Bachus’ piano teachers have included William Dorn (a student of Moriz Rosenthal who was Franz Liszt’s favorite student), and David Smith (a student of Sergei Rachmaninoff). He has received piano playing advice from world-renown pianists Jorge Bolet, Earl Wild, and Marc-Andre Hamelin, among others.
In 1988 he won first first place and received the special award for best performance of a Romantic composition in the Second National Piano Scholarship Competition in Knoxville, Tennessee. In 1995 he was one of 14 (out of 176) selected to participate in the Fifth American National Chopin Piano Competition in Miami, Florida.
Mr. Bachus has earned several diplomas in piano performance and teaching from London College of Music and Trinity College of London. He is a representative for the London College of Music Exams. Bachus Conservatory uses the graded curriculum of the London College of Music. We offer preparation tutoring and host LCM Exams. Bachus Conservatory is the only LCM exam center in the south central United States.
