Homeschooling is a wonderful educational choice, but sometimes our child's needs outstrip our capabilities as teachers. I specialize in tutoring homeschooled children who have difficulty in reading (officially diagnosed or not). I am available during regular school hours and prefer to meet in your home, when a parent or other adult is present. Since this type of tutoring is not supplemental instruction, but the primary reading instruction, I do give homework - daily, short, independent practice activities and reading assignments. Students also create a personalized reading manual of strategies and instruction. I charge $30 per hour session and will provide you with periodic, written updates on your child's progress.

I have a master's degree, four years of teaching experience at a private school for learning disabled students, and many years of tutoring experience.
