Specific Skills

Our Middle and High School Program is seeking a diverse team of experienced teachers for the following positions:

We are looking for a much simpiler way to communicate what it is that we do and how customers benefit. You would be required to meet (in the office) and brainstorm approx. 1-2 hours a week, then create the storyboards between meetings (5 hours a week or so total). This is a part time opportunity, but with long term potential as there is quite a bit of work to be done.

A person in the Visual Designer I position creates compelling, original designs for interactive platforms ranging from websites to software applications to consumer electronics. A Visual Designer I is able to translate client business requirements, user needs, and technical capabilities into designs that are visually exciting, easy to use, and emotionally engaging.

This is a 10-12 week temporary assignment in our Austin studio beginning on 11/30 and estimated to be completed on 3/5/2010. We do not expect that candidates will be required to work between 12/24 and 1/1/2010. Otherwise, candidates must be able to work on-site, 40-hours/week (Mon-Fri) with the project teams.

Responsibilities for this assignment include:

* Create visual designs that effectively communicate product function and brand identity, including the design and production of screen layouts, color palettes, typography, user interface elements, and icons.
* Produce design specifications, storyboards, scenarios, and design prototypes.
* Successfully communicate conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale, both verbally and visually.
* Participate as a contributor to an interdisciplinary team that includes creative leads, other designers, project management, business and brand strategists, and hardware and software developers.

Qualifications

* At least three years of user interface design experience.
* Strong and flexible skills in visual design and interaction design.
* Knowledge of user interface design processes and methodology, particularly as applied to Web-based applications and consumer electronics.
* Proficiency with design and prototyping tools; particularly exceptional skills in PhotoShop and InDesign.
* Experience designing motion graphics with tools such as Flash or Adobe After Effects is a plus.
* Knowledge of capabilities and limitations of Web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, Flash, and CSS.
* Bachelor's degree in graphics design, interaction design, fine arts, or a related design discipline.
* A passion for creating products that resonate on an emotional level.

austin-based, award-winning stock photographer jack hollingsworth is looking for a combined photo and social media intern. willing to offer course credit. a modest transportation stipend is also available to the right candidate. minimum requirement is 20 hours per week.

ideal candidate must have their own transportation, own a mac, and be able to work off of a 'things to do' list. looking for a new breed of assistant who has skills, competencies and experience in both digital photography assisting and social media. position could easily grow into a full time staff position. current needs are for the next 60-90 days (nov 09-jan 09). immediate start. but will look at a longer term internship, if required.
