Job Description:
• Daily supervision and management of approximately 20 children in 4th-6th grade
• Maintain communication with other Program Leaders
• Preparation of daily materials
• Facilitation of activities such as a pre-prepared Heart House curriculum, arts/crafts, reading and outdoor activities
• Helping plan activities, guest speakers and performances, and field trips
• Working with other leaders to generate new ideas for activities, enrichment, and professional development
• Maintaining regular contact with parents and guardians concerning behaviors of children
• Attending CPR/First Aid training
• Attending other trainings and workshops as required
• Attending weekly staff meetings
Hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 2:30 pm to 6:00 pm with an additional 1 hour staff meeting weekly.
Job Requirements:
• Enthusiasm for and experience working with children and a general understanding of childhood development
• Creativity, ability to create lessons and activities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• At least 18 years of age
• Pass a criminal background and drug test
• Flexible and adaptable
• Team player
• Positive attitude
