Position Background:

Summary

Work Environment
Applicant must be able to work out of their home and at facilities location on Lake Travis and provide their own transportation to and from the facilities and any meeting locations. Campus Coordinators work up to 18 hours per week supervising a group of 3-5 high school leaders and overseeing the clubGEN after-school program at 3-4 middle schools. Campus Coordinators also serve as liaisons to middle schools, handling logistics around recruitment of members, keeping records on club members, and maintaining relationships with school personnel.
During clubGEN meetings, Campus Coordinators act primarily as observers and supervisors, empowering the leaders to truly “own” their clubs and take on leadership roles. Two clubs often take place at the same time and location on each middle school campus, and adult volunteers are there to assist with supervision and observation duties. At the conclusion of each meeting, teams debrief, processing feedback with each other using positive reinforcement and constructive feedback. CCFA seeks a Part Time, Temporary Walk Coordinator for our walk campaign, Take Steps for Crohn's & Colitis. The position will start in January 2010-May 2010, 20 hours per week, flexible schedule. This individual will specifically be working on the recruitment, retention and cultivation of participants and teams for the Take Steps program. In addition, staff will be expected to work with local volunteers to coordinate day of event logistics plans. Responsibilities also include extensive grassroots marketing, awareness building and aggressive outreach to GI/Medical community. Also, phone calls and in person meetings with current and past Take Steps participants to coach on fundraising strategies. Additional responsibilities include, managing event records, data entry, mailings & web site/email activities.

This is a part time position, open immediately. The Social Worker will provide screening and strength-based case management for families experiencing one or more crisis or personal challenge related to their basic needs or critical family matter. The Pearce FRC Social Worker will work as part of a small team consisting of the FRC director, parent support specialists, the Pearce Middle School Impact Team, and other FRC staff, volunteers and support organizations.

Texas Campus Green Fund Campaigns
In 2009, ReEnergize Texas helped change the law that restricted students from adopting a “green fee” to pay for sustainability projects on their own campuses. After the change, student groups across Texas are working together to create small green fees that will fund big green projects.
Public Citizen's Texas Office was established in 1984. Since 1985, interns have performed meaningful work in policy research, writing, and advocacy that affects social and environmental change. Over 200 student interns have worked on many projects, including:
• Drafted and passed ethics reform legislation (HB 1606) calling for further disclosure of campaign contributions, conflicts of interest, and more for elected officials

Summary
This position’s primary focus is to develop a strategic plan for outreach to organizations that will benefit from our facilities and programs as well as develop, implement and supervise outdoor educational and therapeutic programs with existing and potential clients.
Secondarily, this person will be responsible for regular inspection and maintenance schedules of the facilities as well as coordinate volunteer recruitment and direct volunteer and additional staff participation in programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities.
Develop, schedule, and supervise programs at Candlelight Ranch, which includes providing written lesson plans, tailoring plans to each group’s specific needs, and cooperating with our clients as needed to make sure that programs are effective with proven results. Produce effective evaluative data and reports to support such results.
Develop a strategic plan (in association with the Executive Director) for outreach to other organizations to increase the number of children and families served at Candlelight Ranch and implement and manage the plan. Look for ways to collaborate with other service organizations and reach out to such organizations in order to offer more efficient programs and services.
Oversee and coordinate cleaning, upkeep, and maintenance of the facilities with volunteer personnel and conduct regular inspections of the property and equipment to ensure a safe environment.
Education / Experience
LMSW / Minimum five years previous experience in directing outdoor educational and therapeutic programs. Previous experience facilitating ropes courses.
Work Environment
Applicant must be able to work out of their home and at facilities location on Lake Travis and provide their own transportation to and from the facilities and any meeting locations. TCRP is looking for a paralegal in its VAWA program, who would work out of Austin, but travel sometimes to East Texas.
Primary Duties: assist in administrative and paralegal capacity in helping qualified immigrant victims of domestic violence file immigration applications under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA); work with witnesses to draft lengthy affidavits; develop and maintain working relationships with community agencies to better assist undocumented survivors; conduct presentations and trainings to community groups; work with the media to “get out the message”; provide referrals and information to immigrant women; conduct outreach.
Qualifications: must be bilingual (read, write, and speak Spanish fluently); paralegal with experience, shelter legal advocate, or person with similar background preferred; domestic violence and/or immigration experience helpful; typing and computer skills required; some travel required; ability to plan and meet targets set six months in advance.
Salary $26,000/year, plus benefits.

The ACLU of Texas is seeking a Director of Development, a senior management position reporting to the Executive Director, to coordinate programs that raise funds for the ACLU and strengthen the links between the ACLU and its supporters. Position requires the ability to work collaboratively across departments. Working closely with the Executive Director, the Director of Development is responsible for planning, supervising and executing the affiliate’s major gifts program and leading the progression and expansion of the ACLU of Texas’ fundraising strategies.
Our organization is experiencing historic growth and the ACLU of Texas is poised to take advantage of this growth to raise resources for major programmatic expansion. Using major gifts to frame our development program, the Director of Development will provide leadership to and collaborate with our affiliate’s development staff and the Board to reach our annual and long-range development goals.
Job Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
Major Gifts Program: Identify, develop and implement strategies for the cultivation of 750 prospective donors for gifts of at least $1000; identify potential donors of $10,000 or more and continue a training program for board members and others for solicitations; identify donor prospects and maintain records on current donors; facilitate solicitations for the Executive Director and board leadership; prepare materials for solicitors and donors; develop and coordinate an annual comprehensive work plan that will include specific fund raising goals and targets for proposals, appeals and campaigns with the Executive Director; work with the national office in coordinating production of appeals; prepare reports. Coordinate and implement cultivation and outreach events to prospective donors throughout the year.
Planned Giving: Work with the national ACLU Office of Planned Giving to develop and implement strategies for marketing planned giving products to ACLU donors and members.
New Donors: Lead and participate in efforts to identify, cultivate and solicit sources of funds and gifts, including major gifts occasional foundation/corporate grants, special events, endowment support and planned giving.
Other Responsibilities
Foundation Grants Program: Coordinate foundation grants program, including strategic prospect research, scheduling, writing, grant preparation and reporting.
Membership: Work collaboratively with the outreach/advocacy coordinator to grow membership across the state.
Gift Recording & Acknowledgement: Assure the proper recording, tracking and reporting of gifts from major donors. Maintain accurate and current data files, including giving histories, profiles, interactions; coordinate with the ACLU National Office regarding changes and updates. Become proficient in National ACLU sharing formulas, produce reports for annual audits and verify reconciliation of funds between ACLU of Texas and the National office.
Materials: Work collaboratively with the Public Education department to develop the messages, materials, and explanations of our work used in all of the development campaigns. Work with the Public Education department to develop the Annual Report and other materials that advance the ACLU’s development programs.
Management: Supervise, train, and evaluate the development staff. Design projects for volunteers and interns. Ensure the development and maintenance of effective documentation of all routine development tasks. Assure confidentiality and work quality requirements are met by other development staff and volunteers. Generate reports and analysis that aid in program evaluation; provide accurate and efficient record keeping and reporting functions for the giving process.
General staff leadership responsibilities: Attend ACLU functions, such as the annual membership meeting, quarterly weekend Board meetings and other ACLU events. Assist the Executive Director in maintaining a strong team spirit within the office.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience with at least five years experience in fundraising focusing on individual major gifts, particularly in advocacy or community-based organizations. CFRE accreditation desirable.
• Experience in working with advocacy and/or community-based organizations.
• Broad understanding of multi-faceted campaign planning, implementation and management.
• Strong interpersonal skills and comfort working with donors, volunteers and senior staff and making presentations and reports in public settings, including board meetings.
• Creative, result-oriented, self-starting, willing to learn, and able to manage an aggressive schedule, willingness to travel occasionally, working beyond 9-5 as needed.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to motivate others and work well with colleagues; experience in successfully directing volunteers in positive, team-oriented approach.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience developing successful written donor communications and marketing materials.
• Superb organization skills; detail oriented with strong follow-through and the ability to meet tight deadlines
• Computer proficiency, including list/database management.

• Process expense reports and invoices and track expenses against budgets. Assist in monthly process of forecasting future spending plans.
• Maintain heavy calendar. Insure adequate preparation for each meeting including agendas, background information, deliverables, etc.
• Maintain schedules and provide travel arrangements for five or more program staff and multiple consultants and interns.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree preferred with 3 years of relevant experience in a similar position. Highly proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other software applications. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface well with all programs/departments in the organization and to represent the Oceans Program in a highly professional manner. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be well organized, motivated, and detail-oriented. Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines. Ability to work in a team setting and have the ability to work independently when projects are due. Demonstrate initiative and problem solving skills. Solid experience with computer spreadsheets. Experience with budgeting and/or bookkeeping a plus.
