I am a black Lab mixed with Sharpei. I am a mid sized dog and love to play. I have training in sitting, shaking hands, and going potty. I am really curious about cats and not convinced if I want to plow them to the ground or just get to know them but I will chase cats as if I were on a hunt. This is a gentle, wonderful dog. She was abandond near our apartment complex and lived in a field for at least four months ( that's how long we've been here). I just wanted to let you know that if you do decide to buy this Amazon, the cage that is being offered with him is way too small for him. It's also a wire cage and he will be able to bite through those bars. An Amazon needs at least a 30 x 24 heavy duty, powder coated or stainless steel cage. It would be torture to keep him in that tiny cage!

My X-girlfriend took her 2 year old Timneh with her. I handfed and trained that spoiled little princess since she was 3 months old. She knows how to whistle several tunes: popeye the sailorman, blue danube waltz, as well as saying, hello sweetheart, come here, give me some, little bird want some and such. I would like to give such a little princess a forever safe loving home. The pic is of her trying to "sample the elusive worm"...lol.
Grapes, banannas and cranberrys are included, as well as daily mist baths and night time head scratching and snuggling. Toys that are entertaining and safe.
And......just a whole lot of tender loving care.

Am I asking for a freebie? Yes, and, I know it is a very long shot since the market prices are so very high. But, if someone really loves their little jewel and can't keep it for any reason, I have a safe forever home.

Male, Yellow Naped Parrot - 5 years old. I am rehoming him due to moving. I am unable to take him where I'm moving. He is very healthy and has NO bad habits. His wings have been recently cut.

He is VERY YOUNG. These parrots can live up to 80 plus years. So please keep this in mind if your thinking about adopting him. He can also get loud, as all parrots can. Just a heads up if you live in an apartment or where that might bother your neighbors. Parrots have the brain and intelligence of a 5 year old child. This is NOT a bird you put in a cage and not spend any time with. He needs DAILY interaction and training.

He is "semi" hand-tamed. He will get out of his cage and sit on top of it. You can put your hand out and he will step right up on your hand or arm. You can walk around with him and pretty much anything else. The only time he will try to bite is if you reach into his cage to get him. Once he is out of his cage he has no problems. Again he is young and very trainable. It won't take someone long to overcome reaching into his cage to get him without him trying to bite. He is smart and very eager to learn. His coloring is BEAUTIFUL. I have attached pictures of him taken last night.

The rehoming fee is $350.00 FIRM including a BRAND NEW CAGE! I have attached pictures of the cage. It's on rollers with a built in seed catcher at the bottom. It has a place on the bottom to store things for the bird. The cage alone is worth $250.00.

I picked him up in Hutto when I was rescuing a horse. He is 7-8 months old. He is good with my 3 other dogs, my 4 year old and everyone that comes and goes at the barn. He is not fixed. He is doing really good on our walks. He is house and crate trained. He is leaving with the rest of his antibiotics. I took him because he was not being feed, had an infection in his paw that caused him to not bear any weight on it. And he had a huge gash in his neck. Almost 2 inches deep! He is bearing the weight great on his paw, he is not over eating and his neck is heald. The only thing extra thing you need to do is give him his antibiotics- which he takes perfect. Large male red foot tortoise needs a new home. I keep him in the back yard of my Round Rock home in a tropical habitat during the warmer months. But now as the weather is getting cooler, I bring him into his winter home, a custom-made cage in my garage. The cage is adequate but I feel that the tortoise would much rather be in a different environment . Preferably with a female red foot or some other companion. The tortoise is a good size (~10" or so) and healthy. He has a voracious appetite and is not a picky eater. He is somewhat social and eagerly comes to the wall of his pen when he hears human voices - or maybe he just smells the food. He will let you pet his nose while he is eating and he seems to enjoy it. These are some of the most laid-back, gentle, low maintenance pets you can have. I am asking for a $150.00 re-homing fee. This sweet pit mix's time is up at the shelter.
She is about 3 yrs old, and is one of most well behaved dogs I have met at the shelter.
She came in with another dog, and seems to do well with all dogs/people. She is very calm and submissive and is always wagging her tail.
She is wearing a cone because she injured her paw on a nail, but it is nothing serious.

We are moving to Ireland & cannot take our Chow. She is a 5yo female mix named Dagny. Sweet as can be, loyal, loves people and other dogs (but not cats!) She plays well with any dog large or small, but is currently an only dog in our home. She is versatile in that she is happy laying at your feet keeping you company, or at the foot of the bed at night keeping watch or looking out of the window all day... or riding in cars, going camping and hiking and on many adventures. She still has alot of energy and spunk, but is just as happy being at home all day laying around keeping you company.

I am currently fostering Gretel (black and tan tweenie) who is recovering from severe flea dermatitis. She is a perfect lady and recovering at an astonishing rate! She is so well behaved and would make someone the most loving pet. She does very well with other dogs, children, and EVEN CATS! She is content with a soft place to sleep and a blanket... and will let you know when she needs to go outside to do her "business."

I am also fostering Momma and her three, 2wk old female pups. She was taken to Town Lake one afternoon and that same night started birthing these little bundles. CTDR rescued her and her babies the next day, took them to the vet and they got a "green light" to be fostered. They are now staying with me and enjoying the good life! The pups are just starting to open their eyes and Momma is doing a great job of taking care of them!

She's a 6 week old brown tabby, and Sugar is the sweetest cat I've ever seen in my life. She LOVES everyone!! She's so little, I just wanna squeeze her little... whiskers? She's funny, and SO entertaining. She gets along well with cats, and dogs. She loves to eat, don't mind her when she's rude and just jumps right in her bowl! Literally... don't be surprised if you catch her SITTING in her bowl, eating away, both paws out! :)

She's such a sweetie pie (hence the name "Sugar")

Come meet her today!! We're asking for a $50 re-homing fee to ensure a good home, and that the person will take THE BEST care of her, but we will GLADLY negotiate on that if we feel it is the right person. Just email me, it never hurts to ask! :)

She has not had shots, and she hasn't been fixed (not old enough yet).

Shake a paw with Jasper...one of the great dogs being fostered by Cocker Spaniel Rescue of Austin/San Antonio. Here's his foster mother's evaluation of Jasper's behavior, temperament and personality:

Jasper is a very happy cocker, who is 2-3 years old�he�s a fun-loving, bubbly, happy, playful little guy. who has been neutered (ouch!) and pronounced healthy by a veterinarian.

He loves to get attention and is very excited and wants to be up in your lap licking your face. He really enjoys going for walks, and he is very independent, so he must be on a leash or he may run off to explore. He will come back unless he sees something interesting or loses sight of you and then he just keeps going...he's always looking for an adventure!

When I come home he greets me with happy little yips and yelps and jumping around in circles because he is so happy to see me (even though we�ve together only a short time).

Jasper is housebroken (yay!) and is used to a dog door and water fountains. His favorite things are riding in the car, playing fetch with his toys and most of all, he loves squeaker balls! He likes his toys so much, he has a tendency to hoard them�he does not have a problem with my taking his toys, but he does growl if other dogs come near his toys.

He has never even tried to nip, he just believes that all toys are "his" toys if he is playing with them. Other than his toy fetish, he plays well with other dogs and get along with them�but he is more of a people dog than a dog dog. He is not as outgoing as some of the others I have fostered; it took him some time to trust me because he is so submissive most of the time. Not sure how he would do with very small children or cats, so a slow introduction to them to see how he reacts would be the best way to go.

Jasper is not aggressive at all�he�s a lover, not a fighter�and maybe he�s the dog for you (or maybe you'd like one of the other available dogs on our website at www.austincockerrescue.org or send us an email at woof@austincockerrescue.org)!

My husband and I have been preparing to add another cat to our household, and I have been keeping an eye on the rescues and shelters' websites for "the one". We haven't yet found the right match for us, so I figured I would post here for those of you who have kittens coming up for adoption soon. I will continue to check the rescues and shelters, but we are intent on finding the exact right kitten for our personalities and our lifestyle, so we are exploring all avenues of rescued/abandoned pets. We are a forever home for our animals, no matter what, and so it's important to us it be a great match :)

We would like a kitten, 6 weeks old. My husband and I have always adopted adult cats in the past, neither of us has ever had an actual kitten before, and we would like the experience of watching a little fluffy kitten grow up into a sassy adult cat this time around. We're most interested in medium or long haired calicos or gray and white tabbies. We are open to other kinds of kitties, though. The look doesn't matter as much to us as the personality.

We have no preference between male or female. The kitten must be litter trained, eating on its own (soft food is fine, I can finish weaning him/her onto kitten chow), flea-free and healthy. We would like it to have had its first vet exam & tests, and perhaps its first round of shots; though this isn't required, as we will be able to get the exam and vaccinations ourselves if necessary.

My husband and I have one cat, who gets along great with other animals, and who will enjoy having a playmate. He has been a bit lonely since his kitty-bff passed away last year. I work from home, and want a lap kitty, as our black kitty is rather independent and he prefers not to be cuddled.

We would prefer to adopt in early December as this is when my husband will be home a lot as well as I, in order to make our new addition welcomed and see him/her adjusted to their new life properly, but if we find THE ONE we will adopt sooner. If you have rescued some kittens that will be around 6 weeks and ready to be adopted in early December (after the 2nd), we'd love to hear from you and keep in touch in the mean time.

We are willing and able to pay a rehoming fee, but if we even remotely suspect you are a breeder we will not adopt your animal. It is important to my husband and I not to support breeding and to only adopt animals that have been abandoned or that are from rescues/shelters.

This sweet 1 yr. Lab mix was given up by her previous owners because they did not have enough time for her.

She knows "sit" and loves attention!
She is scared at the shelter and hides in the corner of her pen. But, once you take her out, she is so grateful and happy and will not leave your side.

This girl should not have to die! She just wants to be someone's best friend!

This sweet female pit mix's time is up at the shelter.
She is about 3 yrs old, and is one of the calmest, most gentle dogs you will ever meet!
She came in with another dog, and seems to do well with all dogs/people.
She is wearing a cone because she injured her paw on a nail, but it is nothing serious!

This girl should not have to die! If you are looking for a dog or want to add another to your family, please consider saving a life!

Fabulous kittens and cats are put to sleep every day at the shelter. Boswell was going to be put to sleep Monday morning but he has been granted a 2 day extension to his sentence and needs to find an adopter by Tuesday. He deserves a second chance - can you help?

BOSWELL (A560380, SB37) is a little shy at first but as soon as you pick him up he responds well to human attention and affection and even 'mews' when you put him back in the cage as if to say "hey - don't leave me"! He has a fantastic long-haired silky blue and white coat and will be stunning when he grows up. Boswell is about 7 months old and would do well with someone who can give him the confidence to be cat. Boswell had other siblings that were too wild but Boswell is a gentle soul looking for the right human to call his own. Can you help?

Just rescued this guy from a bad situation at a co-workers house with the intention of finding a better home for him. He is extremely sweet and loves his kennel. Very independent and quiet for a dachshund. Would prefer him to go to a home with children as he seems very kid oriented.

1 and 1/2 years old, neutered and current on all preventative care including heartworm prevention (comes with a few months of prevention).

Fabulous kittens and cats are put to sleep every day at the shelter. Please help save Quang, Buzz and Dizzy - they are perfect in every way and deserve a second chance! They have to find homes by 6pm Monday or they will die.

QUANG (A560222, SB6) is a 4mth old siamese flame point with beautiful blue eyes. Quang is a gentle little boy and likes to sit on your lap and be petted.
