I find it hilarious that you Dems want to continue to tie McCain to the Keating scandal.
It was alleged that McCain sought out special treatment for Charles Keating, an Arizona constituent and "friend" of McCain's.
The Special Counsel for the Senate Ethics Committee recommended that McCain and John Glenn be dropped from the investigation because they did nothing illegal nor improper.
In fact, Robert Bennett, the Special Counsel (ultra-lib who defended Clinton) as publicly acknowledged that McCain was innocent of any wrongdoing and that the only reason he was kept in the investigation is because the Democrat majority did not want it to look like a Democrat scandal as the other four parties were ALL DEMOCRATS.
Here is what the committee found: McCain met with federal regulators twice and
at the second meeting, McCain told the regulators, "I wouldn't want any special favors for them," and "I don't want any part of our conversation to be improper."
Eventually, the committee said McCain was guilty of nothing more than "poor judgment," the committee said, and declared his actions were not "improper nor attended with gross negligence." McCain considered the committee's judgment to be "full exoneration," and he contributed $112,000 (the amount raised for him by Keating) to the U.S. Treasury.
If you want to bring up the Keating Five and compare Charles Keating to Jerimiah Wright or William Ayers (a home grown terrorist who's targets included innocent women and children) then you Dems should recognize the problems your candidate is in this coming election.
They don't compare!
