People are going to have sex regardless of thier socioeconomic status. Stupid people will have unprotected sex regardless of the consequences. This is just a reality of life - it just is what it is. Unfortunately, a lot of poor people are prone to stupidity, and these same people have babies and depend the most on public assistance to provide for their unplanned families. This isn't going to change, people. But as tax paying voters, you do have some choices ... and rather than just complain, you need to look at the big picture and then consider those choices.

You can get involved with local government and do your part to get those funds to go toward pre-pregnancy birth control measures for poor women instead. Remember ... people are not going to stop having sex, so the best defense is pre-pregnancy birth control. This might cut down on some unwanted pregnancies but remember ... some people are stupid, and won't take pills or use condoms. They'll have unprotected sex and get pregnant no matter what precautions are readily available to them. Until killing people for their stupidity becomes legal, we have to deal with 'em.

You can invoke your moralistic Christianity bullshit and encourage women to give birth to unwanted babies and then raise them yourself. What do you mean it's not your responsibility? It's the Christian thing to do and besides, you encouraged these women to do the right thing and remain close to God by delivering his little miracles in the first place! Hopefully God's little miracles dont grow up to be gay though, because then you'll have to ostracize them and throw them out of your life and your church, because we all know God loves babies but hates fags, right?

You can fight to have this measure vetoed based on your refusal of choice A and B and then let your tax dollars go toward welfare payments, use of Social Services, foster home fees, and a handful of other programs designed to subsidize better living for unwanted children who have parents who should have just got an abortion in the first place. This will cost a lot more money over decades of years and will cause other necessary programs to be canceled in order to fund all these little miracles but hey, you'll make God happy so you'll sleep good at night, and at least those little unwanted babies will get a fantastic loving upbringing courtesy of the government. What the hell happened last night? I understand the need for an abortion if a woman's life is in jepordy, or if rape caused her pregnancy, but last night travis county decided ( NOT voted legitimately ) to take some of the money I'll pay in property taxes to pay for birth control related abortions for poor pregnant woman. They call them poor mothers, but a mother does NOT abort a perfectly healthy fetus just because she's poor - a murderer does. But that's issue number 2. What pisses me off is that my property taxes went up $460 dollars this next year, and in part, I am being FORCED to pay for some woman to have a birth control abortion - 1000 of them to be exact. Despite 10,000 signatures being gathered in opposition of this crap logic in just 2 weeks, the measure was passed anyway despite mass public outcry against it. Basically, travis county bowed to the abortion industry. How the hell is that possible? Why isn't the county more concerned about raising education about how to avoid becoming pregnant - especially if the woman is poor? I went to war 10 years ago where bullets were flying and I swore not to hurt or kill anyone, yet now that I'm some damn useless old man the powers that be decide to raise my taxes to in part pay for some poor woman's birth control abortion? I am adamently against abortion. I hear that president sarkozy wants to impose a carbon tax on french citizens like some other smaller european countries have done. So, excluding electricity because it's powered by nuclear energy, french people and businesses will have to pay extra taxes for oil, gas and coal consumption. The idea is to get people to use less oil and coal by adding fiscal pressure, but the majority of french people so far have been like, "nuh-uh sarkozy. i'm not paying anymore taxes, thanks."
sarkozy has also said that while there will be a tax increase, none of that money is going to the government and it will all be refundable.
i think it sounds like a good idea in theory, but the getting your money back part probably isn't as easy as it seems....

It is quite sickening what the government is tolerating and equally sad how the press is duping the citizenry.

This should be one of the safest countries in the world to live in ..... sadly .... it is not.

I may be weird, but I ain't crazy. Maybe you're delusional but I'm doing just fine. Not sure what the 007 comment was for. I design traffic signals, not IEDs. Obviously you've got your own issues and I won't go there, but you probably want to try and avoid transferring your issues onto being my issues. I may be weird, but I ain't crazy like I said.

By the way, good luck with that whole listening to refute thing you have going on. Most people listen to understand but that's just most people. What the hell happened last night? I understand the need for an abortion if a woman's life is in jepordy, or if rape caused her pregnancy, but last night travis county decided ( NOT voted legitimately ) to take some of the money I'll pay in property taxes to pay for birth control related abortions for poor pregnant woman. They call them poor mothers, but a mother does NOT abort a perfectly healthy fetus just because she's poor - a murderer does. But that's issue number 2. What pisses me off is that my property taxes went up $460 dollars this next year, and in part, I am being FORCED to pay for some woman to have a birth control abortion - 1000 of them to be exact. Despite 10,000 signatures being gathered in opposition of this crap logic in just 2 weeks, the measure was passed anyway despite mass public outcry against it. Basically, travis county bowed to the abortion industry. How the hell is that possible? Why isn't the county more concerned about raising education about how to avoid becoming pregnant - especially if the woman is poor? I went to war 10 years ago where bullets were flying and I swore not to hurt or kill anyone, yet now that I'm some damn useless old man the powers that be decide to raise my taxes to in part pay for some poor woman's birth control abortion? I am adamently against abortion. Why are my property tax dollars being used to pay for them when no where else in the country is that sort of stuff going on, not even at the federal level??

There's no place like home, there's no place like home...

ABIA is a figgin zoo but what else is new? I just spent 11 days with the most uptight people that God has ever put on this Earth. I spent 7 days in switzerland and didn;t get to do even one hour of sight-seeing because of meetings and the like. And since I don't know how to find ganja in switzerland and I wasn't clever enough to sneak it out with me from Austin, I had been ticking off every miserable second of that business class flight back yesterday. It felt nice waking up in my own bed this morning. And it feels even better to be blazing here in front of the fireplace. I think I may start Christmas shopping this weekend but today I'm just going to veg out in front of the fireplace until my jet lag goes away. Or until I get the munchies. Whichever comes first. if I get the munchies, I can't go to the Hungry Moose though. Fridays are usually meat loaf and I'm not a big fan of meat loaf. Maybe I'll hit Bone Daddies instead. I can't recall whether or not I like the food but I love the scenery.

Did you know they do a Sunday brunch at Longhorn Caverns where you get to eat brunch in the cave?
Back in the 1940s they used to have dances and parties in the cave. Isn't that something?
I think I'm going to have brunch there Sunday with Felicia, the girl from San Antonio.
She stayed over for Thanksgiving btw, and she wants to come over again tonight. Go me!

I guess I do have some chores to do today afterall: put up the Christmas tree and decorations before Felicia gets here. I can cank up the Christmas music as loud as I want because there's no one around for miles, literally, to hear it. I still have plenty of time to chillax now though because she won't be here before about 7 or 8 with Friday traffic during the Christmas shopping season. Yesterday I spent at least an hour in gridlock on the way back from ABIA to Oatmeal, Tx.

It's all good though. Right now I'm watching the deer eat the apples I put down for them this morning. Sometimes, there's no place like Oatmeal, Tx.
