1. Perform daily download of vendor and customer financial data from numerous web based reporting systems.
2. Transcribe downloaded financial data into Excel spreadsheets.
3. Analyze Excel spreadsheet data. Monitor changes from previous day, looking for unusual changes, possible reporting errors & system issues, and interesting trends.
4. Create complex Excel calculations, charts, and graphs to assist with data analysis.
5. Create summary reports in PowerPoint. Reports will summarize financial metrics and key performance indicators. Reports will also draw attention to any shifts in operating metrics that may require action by other team members.
6. Monitor various internal reporting systems to ensure that automated data imports are functioning properly and no errors exist in the information. Perform calculations to track down any errors in the data. Follow through to make sure any errors are fixed.
7. Run reports in QuickBooks to compare revenue and expense numbers with system reports. Track down and resolve any reporting issues or mismatches.
8. Compile daily reports into weekly and monthly trend analysis reports. Monitor expense and revenue trends, as well as trends across various operating metrics. Have discussions with finance, sales, and engineering teams to better understand the reasons behind various trends in the data. Create PowerPoint reports to forecast trends and illustrate findings.
9. Interpret data and make recommendations about possible issues that may cause reduced profitability or revenue loss, as well as potential opportunities to increase revenue and profit. Communicate findings to both upper management as well as various members of the team who will benefit from the analysis.
10. Build one-off reports as requested by the management, sales, web marketing, and engineering teams. Utilize existing reporting tools and excel spreadsheets, and write custom reports using basic programming and SQL scripting skills.
11. Analyze the financials and operating metrics of various companies that we are looking to acquire. Perform analysis to determine possible ways to eliminate expenses or increase revenues. Identify any possible red flags in the metrics that may point to problems in the business that will surface at a later time.
12. Become the Product Manager for all internal reporting tools. Ensure that various reports are consistent in terminology and accuracy. Create feature requests and bug reports to continually improve any internal financial and operational reporting tools. Discuss reporting needs with various teams and become an advocate for data transparency, accuracy, and frequency across the organization.
Requirements:
