It was a famous gold and copper mining town in the last century and also the stomping grounds for Gironimo's tribe in the surrounding mountains.
Very colorful little town with lots of art events. It's 5000 ft high, often windy, mostly blue skies and has a fascinating rainy season with daily thunderstorms, temps lowering into the 60's at night with very comfortable breezy summer days.
An outdoor pool situated on top of the city is open during the summer months and truly is the closest thing to paradise. It is never crowded. Similar to Stacy pool.
It's windy and cool now, but mostly blue skies all the way through June, with a 3 months rainy season starting usually July 4th through September.
