For the 21st year in a row, the Lone Star Vegetarian Network (LSVN) is messin' with a serious Texas tradition. On Sunday, November 15, from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., teams from across the Lone Star state will gather at the Historic Farmers Market in Austin to compete in one of the fiercest competitions in the field of chili cookin'. Yes, it's a high-spirited event, but it's also fun, healthy and animal friendly.

It's the best tastin' and heart healthiest Chili Cook Off Ever!!!!

The chilies range from mild and spicy with a good balance of flavors to fiery, toenail curling chili with an aggressive use of peppers. Contestants go wild with their creative use of ingredients…….which is only limited by their imaginations. And boy, are they imaginative!

Are you a chili master? Do you have a special family recipe? A nice blend chili? Not too bold but spicy enough? Or perhaps your concoction is more of a screaming sensation with an afterburner quality?

Well, this contest is for you! A down-loadable entry form is available at www.LSVN.org or you can email Liz at Liz@LSVN.org or call (512) 921-1125 to request a form be sent to you. Entry fees are only $25 for individual/nonprofit and $50 for business/corporate. Winners receive fabulous trophies and cash prizes. Celebrity judges select the winners for First Place ($300), Second Place ($200), Third Place ($100) and Best in Show ($100) awards.

The cook off is open to the public and admission is free for children 5 and younger, $3 for children 6 to 12 and $7 for 13 and older. Attendees get to taste ALL the vegan chilies - guaranteed to delight your taste buds - and to vote for their favorite chili. The winners of the Peoples' Choice award receive a trophy and a $250 cash award!

There will be many interesting people to meet, guest speakers, great door prizes, live music, vendors and wonderful educational booths and exhibits. It's just too much fun to miss.

The Lone Star Vegetarian Network Chili Cook Off has been mesin' with a Texas tradition for going on 21 years now. Not only is LSVN keeping chili weird in Austin but also vegan, delicious and healthy.
