Bicycle Accident at 10th and Lamar-Thursday April 10th @ 3pm (Lamar and 10th)

Last Thursday I was heading north on Lamar after leaving REI heading to ACC Rio Grande. Upon approaching 10th street, I was struck by a silver Nissam xTerra. I know there were many witnesses to this event, yet being in a state of shock I failed to obtain anyone's information. Kat, I remember your name & appreciate the offer for a ride to the hospital.
Today I picked up a copy of the collision report from APD and it states that I was going east on 10th street where I crossed Lamar without yielding causing the accident.
I was hoping to settle with the gentleman without dealing with insurance companies- I just want my bicycle repaired, I came out of the accident with plenty of bruises and sore knees but I'm alive-yet it is appearing that I will need to file a claim with his insurance. I am a full-time student and depend on my bicycle as transportation.
If anyone reading this post witnessed this accident please contact me to validate my side of the argument.
