Hello there and thanks for reading. I am writing to report a local business that is fraudulent and unprofessional: ABA Appliance.
I called this company several weeks ago when my washer began to overflow. They assigned me a 4 hour window for which a technician would arrive, albeit three days after I placed the call. The technician was late but did seem friendly. I went inside to work on my lap top and 10 minutes later the technician told me that he ‘cleared the tube’ and that it would work just fine now. I paid $135 for this service.
That evening, I loaded the washer and it overflowed again. I called immediately to report the incident and they scheduled yet another 4 hour window, 3 days later, claiming that this was the soonest possible availability. This time it was a different technician all together. He assessed the situation and told me that I actually needed additional parts to fix the problem yet first he would need to ensure that the parts were still being manufactured (apparently this is an older machine.) He told me that he would call me the next day.
4 days later, after no word, I finally called the office and spoke to a manager, Rachel, who pulled up my file and said that it would be $150 for the additional parts. I told her the value of the machine did not exceed the amount of time/money and that since it had never once worked from the time the first technician came out, that I would like a partial refund of the $135 charge. She declined. I asked to speak to the owners and she denied that as well. She told me that since a ‘procedure’ had been performed, they were entitled to charge me for it. My argument, obviously, was that the ‘procedure’ did not fix the problem and thus was a false assessment on the technician’s part.
I have called the store numerous times in hopes of speaking with the owners and/or another person in charge. Each time I’ve spoken with Rachel and she continued to be nasty and to deny my requests. It has been over a month now and after many heated conversations and leaving several messages for the owners which were never returned, I have no other choice but to do as I am doing now—spreading the word about a company that not only provides extremely poor quality of service but that also has terrible policies and customer relations.
Please, please do not support this business and pass the word along to others who might be in need of appliance repair. I would hate for anyone else to get ripped off and then treated as poorly as I was. Thanks so much for reading…
