Work off Thanksgiving Dinner by helping the Central Texas Trail Tamers improve trails at Bastrop State Park! Get details at
http://www.trailtamers.org
Come out during the day or camp any of the time we are working from November 28 through December 6. We start work at 9 a.m.
To find the Trail Tamer campsite location and the gathering point for each day's work, check the bulletin board outside the park visitor center as you enter the park.
Volunteers must sign in at park headquarters, but are not required to pay park entrance or campground fees.
Only 30 miles east of Austin, Bastrop State Park is the closest place where you can hike and backpack in a true forest...the Lost Pines. (You can learn more about the park at:
http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/spdest/finadest/parks/bastrop/.)
Central Texas Trail Tamers work trails in Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, West Texas, Arkansas, and as far as the Pacific Northwest. The remote project last from 7 to 14 days. We have local projects almost every month.
Central Texas Trail Tamers is an all-volunteer, 501c-3 organization.
