Partners in Literature volunteers lead student groups in discussions of interesting stories and articles to promote reading comprehension and critical thinking skills. If you enjoy reading or have ever joined or thought about joining a book club, this is the opportunity for you!
Volunteers will work with 3-5 students for 45 minutes once a week during Language Arts classes. All texts and materials are provided, as well as training.
**Sign up now to express interest in volunteering for Fall 2008.**
There will be many different opportunities to choose from on Tues-Thurs between 8am and 4pm at a variety of school locations around Austin.
Exact schedules should be available around early September and training will be held in late September, if not earlier.
Program begins in early October.
Interested volunteers should register at www.austinpartners.org for the opportunity they prefer. Once a Safe Schools background check has been completed, volunteers will be contacted about training.
