Volunteer Opportunities for Cancer Survivors and Their Loved Ones:
Cancer Connection (formerly CanCare Austin) is a growing network of cancer survivors and their family members providing emotional support in a variety of ways to those currently living with cancer. We have partnered with the Lance Armstrong Foundation to place volunteers in area St. David’s and Seton hospitals. Our volunteers can also be found in the infusion rooms at Southwest Regional Cancer Center and Texas Oncology, providing emotional support for cancer patients and their families.
Cancer Connection also needs volunteers to participate in one-on-one matching with those persons and their family members currently living with cancer. Their next volunteer training will be held June 13-14, 2008. To volunteer please apply online at http://www.thecancerconnection.org or contact us at 342-0233.
