POSITION OVERVIEW

A fantastic opportunity to work with one of Austin’s most exciting start-ups, and assist a cutting-edge marketing team in producing design pieces to advance our emerging brand. Your role is to help us put our best-foot forward by producing pieces that reflect the dynamic, snappy, no-nonsense Spiceworks-personality that the IT world has come to know (& love!). You’ll accomplish this via a wide variety of projects ranging from designing and building HTML emails and web pages, creating online banner ads, contributing to product UI design, producing print pieces, and much more!

By getting your hands dirty with a wide range of design projects, you’ll evolve a top-notch, well-rounded design skill set that’ll allow you to expand and diversify your ‘bag of tricks.’ While no two weeks (or even days!) will be the same, you’ll enjoy a dynamic environment where you’ll interact with a variety of people. And, you’ll have a darn good time while doing it!

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will have the required skills, some of the preferred skills and an insatiable hunger to roll up their sleeves and learn as much as they possibly can!

Required Skills

• Ability to hand-code valid, semantic markup (XHTML+CSS)
• Really, the ability to hand-code valid, semantic markup (XHTML+CSS)
• Practices Progressive Enhancement
• Adobe Photoshop (or Fireworks) and Adobe Illustrator
• At least two years of design experience
• Ability to multi-task & meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Avid and fast learner

Preferred Skills

• Experience building HTML emails
• Experience with email apps such as Litmus or Exact Target
• A/B & multivariate testing
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Able to organize, document and archive your work
• Any sort of drawing ability
• Any experience with PHP or Javascript
• Adobe Flash
