QuantumDigital, a leader in personalized, targeted direct marketing and digital printing, is looking for a web designer & user interface developer to maintain existing websites and web applications as well as contribute to the development efforts of marketing campaigns and web-to-print applications. This position requires skills in both web graphic design and web application development, and an intrinsic understanding of how they go hand-in-hand to create intuitive user interfaces.
This position is responsible for:
• Designing and implementing highly interactive and complex user interfaces and presentation logic for large-scale, high-traffic web applications as well as highly efficient, light weight and re-usable UI web components.
• Contributing to UI design and working with the marketing and information technology team to enhance QuantumDigital’s web presence.
• Implementing and maintaining existing and new web sites.
• Creating and updating web elements and graphics.
• Maintaining and writing CSS for various company web sites.
• Reviewing specifications created by UI developers and web designers in order to create wireframes, layouts, skinning and mock ups to meet specs.
• Ensuring web standards are adhered to by other developers.
• Developing technical and domain expertise and applying to product challenges.
• Supporting feature roll-outs and sharing on-call duties to assist with site issues.
• Leading and participating in design discussions, code reviews and project related meetings.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field preferred.
• 3+ years experience in web development and presentation layer development using PHP, XHTML.
• PHP, JavaScript, HTML, XHTML, CSS, and Flash experience required. In addition, experience with CakePHP; XML, XSL/XSLT and DTD/XSD; SOAP, WSDL; script.aculo.us; jQuery, YUI, Dojo or similar framework is preferred.
• Extensive experience with cross browser development and browser/platform compatibility issues.
• Experience and working knowledge of AJAX frameworks, object-oriented JavaScript, other JS frameworks.
• Experience with content management integration and source control software in a team environment.
• Good analytical and problem solving skills as well as verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to meet aggressive deadlines for presentation layer projects and work in a fast-paced environment.
