I am offering an internship experience in helping a self-publishing author write a book. The job is to transcribe writing from dozens and dozens of notebooks into electronic format. Compensation is an internship experience to add to your resume, and a good working reference.
The hours can be extremely flexible, I will provide you with the hand-written notebooks and you just need to return them to me with the electronic documents. I'll give you a few books at a time to transcribe and give you more work as I get comfortable with you and see how you do at transcribing accurately. These notebooks are of immense personal value and importance to me, and as there is only one copy of each of them in the entire world, I will require some sort of collateral deposit for your first job. I am not in a position to be able to conduct background checks to see how reliable you are as a person.
This could be a great opportunity for someone who has the time and is just starting out in writing / editing / or publishing, can type fast and just wants good references for their resume. I'm a great recommendation writer and can spin this project to make you stand out as professional and hard working to a future employer. That is, if you do a good job for me.
