True Stories about Women for Lifetime Movie Channel Needed (Austin)

I'm interested in a hearing true stories about women who have definite challenging goals in life that I can write in a screenplay about which would be about 90 pages long. The main character has to be a woman who is the one telling the story who will be the co-writer of the screenplay. The completed screenplay will be emailed to an actor that's been in Lifetime movies who will forward it to the producers. If the screenplay is sold to the Lifetime move channel, we would split the money for the screenplay 50%. Right now I'm writing a true story that has happened to me in which a cop has created a fraudulent police report and a telephone conversation in order to intimidate me to plead guilty when I did nothing wrong. My goal is to get the charge dismissed so this makes a good story with me as the main character and the cop as the antagonist. These are the kind of stories I'd like to hear. Time is not important so it doesn't matter whether it takes a year or 10 years to reach the goal in the story just as long as it can be completed. You can email me here with some information about you and your story and send your phone number so we can talk. A good story can be worth lots of $$$ these days.

Contributors Wanted for Art and Literary Webzine's Winter 2010 Issue

Aspiring artists, poets, authors:

Austin's online anthology "celebrating creative feminism since 2003" seeks contributions of original work for its winter 2010 issue—and beyond.

Our webzine aims to explore visual media in the next issue. This season's theme will include gender issues (i.e., sexual identity, body image and consciousness, sexism, discrimination, and violence), and how these issues effect the accomplishments of women. When submitting your original art and writing, consider the following questions: What visual art, film, television, or internet presentation/series has influenced your art or writing, or impacted your life? How do we channel these creative visual influences for the good of women and humanity? Who are creating prominent roles for themselves - and changing perceptions of women in art, film, television and internet production?

Your original art, essays, interviews, photographs, poetry, prose, reviews, short fiction, non-fiction and films will be considered for the winter publication of Lipstick Pages.

***Deadline: Monday, December 28. Please browse our website and review submission guidelines (http://thelipstickpages.net/submissions.htm) before sending a LOI or any material to be considered for electronic publication.***

About Us: Lipstick Pages is a quarterly/seasonal, volunteer and donation operated publication. Our current staff of contributors and editors is a fabulous, fun and diverse group of people who share a common goal: Highlighting the accomplishments of creative women, and promoting change in the lives of women for the better - through individual, grassroots, and international activism. We work with individual women, businesses, educational institutions, and non-profit organizations devoted to helping women and girls achieve their creative goals.

About You: If you are looking to contribute to a quality publication that promotes creative thought and freedom of expression, and to gain experience as an artist or writer for a publication with a purpose, then Lipstick Pages may be the right organization for you to contribute your time and talent.

Resume Writer Needed

Note: This is an AT-HOME position that is PART TIME - anywhere from 2-20 hours per week depending on your skill level and how you progress.

I own a small resume writing service that is expanding rapidly and I need at least a few good resume writers who can not only complete simple resumes very rapidly, but also format them using Microsoft Word. Understanding the intricacies of writing a good resume is imperative, though I am willing to train (to a limited extent) any promising candidate who might be willing to stay on long term.

This position will eventually develop into a full-time, well-paid position. Until then, the salary will be $12 an hour with the assumption that 1.25 resumes be completed per hour (or rather, one every 45 minutes). I know from experience that this can be done faster without sacrificing quality if you're good, so this would be great supplemental income for someone with experience in this field.

All of the requisite information, as well as a prior resume will be provided to you, it's simply a matter of (quickly) designing a unique resume template in Microsoft Word and rewriting the information. [I should note - your job will not be to rephrase sentences, but to reconstruct entire sections in an original, effective way. If you feel you cannot do this, please do not apply. This job is not for everyone. Contrary to popular belief, writing a good resume isn't something everyone can do.] Eventually you will be given the customers contact information should you need to directly interact with them - but anyone I bring on at this point will be on a trial basis.

In submitting a proposal, please submit a sample resume in .doc format (information can be fake, just realistic -looking-) that you feel confident you could craft in the timespan permitted. Please do not submit your own resume. Do not copy/paste a resume into your e-mail as it should be obvious that that's not what I'm looking for.

I've had quite the response to this advertisement as this is a very desirable position, but very few candidates have been even remotely qualified.

Please be prepared to complete one trial resume - unpaid - so I can gauge your skill level.

If you're interested, let me know your rates, when you could begin and complete the project, and send me examples of your work.

Publishing/Editorial Experienced Sales Person (Austin, but anywhere)

We are looking for a Contract Sales Professional or Editorial Professional who wants to earn some extra money in Austin and the surrounding areas. This person must have good contacts in the professional editing trades, especially with large publishing houses, magazines, or marketing/PR companies. We are a full capability business support agency specializing in providing professional editorial and marcomm development services. We have done jobs ranging from flyer copy development for small companies to press releases and white papers for large publishing and entertainment companies.

We have an excellent reputation for completing jobs accurately, efficiently, and on-budget with no surprises. We are a growing company looking to continue to expand our customer base. Our "niche" specialty lies in substantial copy editing: We work with organizations to clearly convey their message—without affecting their voice or overall tone— and create the image that consumers will always associate with their business through molding complete, attention-grabbing communication that is scrupulously examined for grammatical correctness before it is released to the public. Our customer simply has to provide with their initial idea or drafted piece, tell us what they would like to see as the end result, sign our contract, and sit back in comfort and confidence while our team completes their assignments in a workmanlike fashion.

This is not a full time sales position, it is strictly commission so there are no minimums to maintain at this stage of the game. We are looking to establish a relationship with someone who wants to act as a "broker" of sorts. You can work on this 2 hours a week or 50, it makes no difference to us. Compensation will be a negotiated percentage of the gross project. If things go well for both parties, we can talk about a permanent, full time position.

Once again, please be an experienced professional in the Sales or Editorial/Publishing fields with above average contacts, and experience in editorial developing bidding (desired).

Please email with questions, or send resumes to the anonymized email address in this listing.
