Our webzine aims to explore visual media in the next issue. This season's theme will include gender issues (i.e., sexual identity, body image and consciousness, sexism, discrimination, and violence), and how these issues effect the accomplishments of women. When submitting your original art and writing, consider the following questions: What visual art, film, television, or internet presentation/series has influenced your art or writing, or impacted your life? How do we channel these creative visual influences for the good of women and humanity? Who are creating prominent roles for themselves - and changing perceptions of women in art, film, television and internet production?
Your original art, essays, interviews, photographs, poetry, prose, reviews, short fiction, non-fiction and films will be considered for the winter publication of Lipstick Pages.

About Us: Lipstick Pages is a quarterly/seasonal, volunteer and donation operated publication. Our current staff of contributors and editors is a fabulous, fun and diverse group of people who share a common goal: Highlighting the accomplishments of creative women, and promoting change in the lives of women for the better - through individual, grassroots, and international activism. We work with individual women, businesses, educational institutions, and non-profit organizations devoted to helping women and girls achieve their creative goals.
While there is some flexibility candidates will be expected to attend the Story Room 3 - 5 days a week and spending at least 4 - 8 hours per session.
Payments will be made weekly either to a paypal account or by cheque.
We are not looking for candidates to bring new stories to the table at this time, but to take assignments from the leaders on existing scripts in development.
Interested parties are invited to submit a cover letter outlining their interest and qualifications. An optional short writing sample may also be submitted.

Flatmancrooked (recently recognized by Esquire as one of the top 5 online literary journals in the U.S.) is seeking the best poetry for our Slim Volume of Contemporary Poetry: 2010.
Mary Karr is the Jesse Truesdell Peck Professor of Literature at Syracuse University and was the weekly poetry editor for the Washington Post Book World’s “Poet’s Choice” column, a position canonized by Robert Hass, Ed Hirsch, and Rita Dove.
This position will eventually develop into a full-time, well-paid position. Until then, the salary will be $12 an hour with the assumption that 1.25 resumes be completed per hour (or rather, one every 45 minutes). I know from experience that this can be done faster without sacrificing quality if you're good, so this would be great supplemental income for someone with experience in this field.
All of the requisite information, as well as a prior resume will be provided to you, it's simply a matter of (quickly) designing a unique resume template in Microsoft Word and rewriting the information. [I should note - your job will not be to rephrase sentences, but to reconstruct entire sections in an original, effective way. If you feel you cannot do this, please do not apply. This job is not for everyone. Contrary to popular belief, writing a good resume isn't something everyone can do.] Eventually you will be given the customers contact information should you need to directly interact with them - but anyone I bring on at this point will be on a trial basis.
In submitting a proposal, please submit a sample resume in .doc format (information can be fake, just realistic -looking-) that you feel confident you could craft in the timespan permitted. Please do not submit your own resume. Do not copy/paste a resume into your e-mail as it should be obvious that that's not what I'm looking for.
I've had quite the response to this advertisement as this is a very desirable position, but very few candidates have been even remotely qualified.

Submissions will be judged anonymously and five winners will be invited to read their work at Five Things on January 29. There is no reading fee, and all Austin-area residents are invited to submit. Tell your friends and start writing!
If you'd like to see the end of bad faith dealings by incompetent and unethical clients, now's your chance. You can either submit your brief experience(s) by giving your name and contact info, reply anonymously, or ask that your name not be referenced. All who inquire or submit their stories will be sent an update via email with a blog article providing all relevant details for your perusal.
This is not a full time sales position, it is strictly commission so there are no minimums to maintain at this stage of the game. We are looking to establish a relationship with someone who wants to act as a "broker" of sorts. You can work on this 2 hours a week or 50, it makes no difference to us. Compensation will be a negotiated percentage of the gross project. If things go well for both parties, we can talk about a permanent, full time position.
Once again, please be an experienced professional in the Sales or Editorial/Publishing fields with above average contacts, and experience in editorial developing bidding (desired).
