This hutch was purchased from Mandel's in Chicago in the 1940s. It's been in the family ever since. From a farmhouse in Illinois to our home in Austin. Third generation now. Decided it was time to do some downsizing. The piece was in our current kitchen where it held cookbooks and other decorative items. Beautiful wood. One drawer. It does take up much space either. This is a traditional two-piece antique hutch. The odd thing is whether it was the moves, humidity, but there a small split in the wood, that goes from the top to bottom on the left side. It's visible in the pictures. It actually adds character to it and does not take way from the beauty or functionality. Still has the metal store name plate. "Mandel Brothers"
