Belleek Vase / Bowl plus Belleek Mini-Vase - Both Made in Ireland - Vintage
Cream colored porcelain / china ( pottery) . High quality. You can see your hands through it.
The larger piece is pleasing to the eye from across the room. It has a neptune shell pattern on the outside, a beautiful scalloped edge, and a golden pearl-like luster finish on the inside. The green maker's mark on the bottom is for items created during the 1965 to 1980 period. This larger piece is in like new condition. I do not see any chips, cracks, or crazing.
Larger piece's dimensions: 4.25 inches tall and 5 inches wide at the top
The mini-vase has attractive designs on all 4 sides. The top part is fluted and has a scalloped edge. There is gold trim on the top edge and two lines of gold trim on the neck of the vase. This mini-vase has a gold colored makers' mark, which indicates that it was created during the years 1980 - 1993. The base of the mini-vase is not level, so it will rock slightly when I first set it down. Therefore, it is in good condition, but not excellent condition.
Small piece's dimensions: 3.75 inches tall by 1.75 inches wide
Located in the 78704 area of South Central Austin. No shipping.
The price is $40 for the larger vase. Cash only.
The price is $10 for the smaller mini-vase. Cash only.
The Belleek Company has a heartwarming history. The founder of the company's aim to provide employment for local people during one of the darkest periods of famine in Irish history was successful. (Belleek has a wikipedia page if you want to read more about the history of the company.)
I also have two Lenox items for sale, as shown in the last photograph. Search on the word Lenox to find the craigslist postings for the Lenox items. (All of these things were purchased decades ago by my mother).
