The base is solid hardwood with a beautiful fluted pedestal.
The butler tray is made of solid brass with a piecrust edge and rests on the surface, so you can remove the tray and place it on your bed or ottoman, as needed, for holding beverages or food. Could also be used as a plant stand.
Vintage / antique item - it might be from the 40's or 50's or 60's, but I don't know for sure.
Approximately 20 inches tall and 16 inches in diameter.
The tray top could be polished with a metal polish designed for brass ... or use a solution of baking soda and lemon juice, as can be found from an internet search on how to polish brass. ... Or, the top could be spray painted with a can of Rustoleum designed for painting metal, which can be purchased at Home Depot or Lowes. Rustoleum is available in many colors, including metallic colors and solid colors, like burnt orange.
