Beautiful and hard-to-find Singer Model 15 treadle sewing machine from 1910 (serial G8983409). This 115-year-old machine has its original ornate gold detailing, cast-iron body, and wooden cabinet base — a wonderful example of early Singer craftsmanship.
The machine does run: when plugged in and the foot pedal is pressed, the needle moves (currently slow), which is typical of a machine this age that simply needs a fresh oiling, cleaning, or belt adjustment. These old Singers are famously long-lived and often come back to full strength with a little routine care.
Pieces like this are sought after for restoration, display, and décor. The cast-iron treadle base alone is collectible.
