Have a decent-sized mesquite tree that didn't make it through this winter. Not sure why.

We will be taking this down, and some of the logs will be able to yield usable pieces of wood. Mesquite is very hard, dense, and 50% heavier than red oak. Has a very low volumetric shrinkage rate (4.7%), polishes up beautifully, and although sometimes difficult, is well worth the effort.

the trunk is maybe 12-14" diameter, and some of the major limbs are between 5 and 7 " diameters.

We will custom cut the lengths of the larger pieces for you, free, in exchange for help in hauling the culls to the burn pile some 75 feet away.

bring your pickup, boots, and gloves. Again, this wood is totally free for an artisan/woodworker/sculptor in exchange for a bit of haulage help. We're 45 miles SE of Austin.
