Listed for a collector who will make a serious offer. Do a little research and you can determine a fair price range. This is a bmx jumping and racing bike designed for difficult and punishing clay soil conditions in and around Pensacola Florida in the late 80’s to late 90’s. The Clayborn lightweight 4130 chrome moly steel frames with super strong front gusset were made for approximately 5 years in Pompano Beach Florida. Clayborn is a high end, top quality, small company, now making only aluminum frames since the early 2000’s. The serial number is #001415, one of probably less than 300 with 21” top tube. The bike is period correct including the Schwinn XS 3 pc crankset with Profile chainwheel. You have probably never seen one of these bikes before. Do a little research and see what you find for valuation of a complete bike like this. The frame, fork and stem are all Clayborn. (Note: The seat post is stuck in the frame. There are two tiny dings at the top tube that are not significant and are a testament to how thin walled the tubing is. The rear wheel is NOS. I am looking for a closer matching 36 spoke front wheel. (I will be keeping the black front wheel as I have a rear that matches it with a 14mm axle) You may keep the early 90’s Excel knobby front tire that came with the bike. The bike tracks straight and is a true survivor. Bike weighs 26 lbs, 4 ounces. I plan to show it at the annual BMX Roundup Sunday May 30.
