Up for sale is a classy De Rosa Diamante built up with Columbus steel tubing, Campagnolo Super Record components and Mavic Open Pro rims. It has been repainted to a light purple, and has very proper Campy bits on it. Campy parts that are on the bike include: headset, brake levers, brake calipers, shifters, derailleurs, bottom bracket, crank, chainrings, chainring bolts, cassette, hubs, quick release skewers, and seatpost. The wheels have recently been relaced to Mavic Open Pro clincher rims, using the original hubs, as the original rims were tubular and the owner didn’t want to go that route. This is quite a special bike, as it’s not only a homage to great steel bikes of the previous generation, but it’s a functional piece of art. With 28 mm tires mounted, and with room to spare, it’s ready to rip and ride. Or pull up to coffeeshops and be the envy of other cyclists. Examples of this era of cycling are hard to come by, and with new Turbo saddle and brake lever hoods, even more so. It has character, a classy attitude and a sublime ride.
