In an effort to support local Sunfish sailing, and because I felt it was a super deal, I bought a bunch of ISCA (sunfish) used ONLY in the recent World championships held in Ecuador,
Why?? New ISCA (sunfish) retail for $6795 PLUS about $1200 shipping. These are brand new boats used for one short regatta by the planet’s best sailors who knew they had to pay for any damages.
As an added bonus, each boat came with a dolly, a blade bag, a cover, and a bag of all the unused fancy racing lines which are unused because the competitors brought their own.
As of June 6, only have two left ( I plan to drive to Rhode Island and grab three more next month).
If you are just taking up sailing, we will help you rig the boat and arrange a start up sailing lesson with the guy I think might be Austin’s best sailing instructor.
Confession: I was one of the folks who started the Wednesday night Sunfish racing in Austin four decades ago and my entire reason for doing this is to be sure my friends can get new toys.
AND I am enjoying lollygagging my way to New England and back playing tourist along the way.
