Selling a SIMILUX Star Finder & Identifier No. 2102-D.
This Star Finder and Identifier is designed to portray graphically the approximate altitude and azimuth of the 57 numbered stars listed in the Air and Nautical Almanacs and any other celestial bodies that may be plotted on the star base. The complete set consists of 9 altitude-azimuth templates (blue-lined), 1 meridian angle-delination template (red-lined) and 1 dual star base (black-lined) and a instruction sheet enclosed in a containment sleeve (all present & account for).
This is a rare and valuable collectible for enthusiasts of transportation and celestial/maps & atlases. It was made in the 1950’s. It is a great addition to any collection and can provide hours of enjoyment and exploration.
The Star Finder was previously owned by Mr. Calvin C. Daughetee who passed away at the age of 89 in 2014. Mr. Daughetee retired from the U.S. Navy as a Lt. Commander, serving in both World War II and the Korean War Conflict.
