A powerful depiction of faith and reverence, this vintage sculpture of praying hands was produced by Marwal Industries Inc., known for its finely detailed decorative figures. Sculpted by M. Purcell, whose signature appears on the sleeve, the piece captures incredible realism—from the veined hands to the deep folds of the robe.
It stands 11" tall, 9.25" wide, and 6.25" deep, and weighs a solid 7 lbs 7 oz. Made from a dense, stone-like composite—possibly plaster or chalkware—with a bronze-tone cold-painted finish, it offers the presence of a bronze sculpture without the weight or cost.
The back is marked “MARWAL IND INC ©” and likely dates to the 1960s–70s, when the company was active producing high-quality statuary for religious and decorative purposes.
