I believe it is from the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows in Belleville, Illinois.
“Our Lady of the Snows" is associated with the Basilica of Saint Mary Major in Rome, Italy. It refers to the legend that Mary appeared in a dream to a Roman couple and instructed them to build a church in her honor where snow would fall in the summer. According to the legend, on Aug. 5, Esquiline Hill was miraculously covered with snow, and the couple, along with Pope Liberius, built the basilica in honor of Mary. The Basilica of St. Mary Major is a place of pilgrimage and devotion to Our Lady of the Snows, celebrated annually on Aug. 5 with a symbolic "snowfall" of flower petals from the ceiling.
