LLANO COUNTY, (TEXAS), CENTENNIAL PLATE - 1856 - 1956.
Description on back of plate.
"The background in the center of the emblem of the Llano County Centennial is historic Packsaddle Mountain, a geological upheaval resembling a Spanish packsaddle.
It was the battle ground on August 5, 1873, of the last conflict with the Indians in Llano County.
A rustic stone memorial placed on the eastern summit designates the battle site.
The Texas Longhorns have roamed it heights while grazing on the open range.
Many prospectors have been lured to this area in search of minerals and buried treasures".
