A ship's clock by made by Schatz of Triberg, Germany circa 1950s. It is designed to strike on a bell each half hour following the ship clock's 4-hour sequence for sailor duty. The brass case is in great shape - no cracks and the brass or glass. The dial is about 5 inches in diameter. The overall clock diameter is about 7 inches. The depth is about 3.75 inches.
The time portion of the clock is not working. The movement has been cleaned and oiled, except for the balance hairspring. That portion can be removed and serviced without taking the movement apart. However, some bushings may need to replaced. The time portion was working for a few minutes during initial testing.
The clock is mounted on a shield-shaped piece of wood that can hang on the wall. There is some black marks on the wood below the bottom of the clock that I tried to clean, but that area would need to be sanded to get rid of the black marks if so desired.
