Experience: Competed in lower level eventing. As an experienced rider, you will immediately see that he is a well-trained eventer who is quite sharp. Natural horsemanship training. Would prefer someone with eventing experience. At the least, a solid English/Dressage/Jumping background. He requires a soft hand.
You must be a patient, kind horseperson who also requires horses to respect them through non-aggressive means. He is very responsive to gentle, NHS techniques. I will not tolerate any anger or aggression shown towards him, physical punishment, abuse of tools, etc.
Personality: Possibly the SWEETEST horse I have ever had the pleasure of partnering with. I can kiss him on the nose and eyes and receive a dropped head. He has great manners catching, releasing, grooming, mounting, etc. He is very patient and willing! He has not been abused, but he will not trust you if you are rough with him. Any corrections made must be followed up with a scratch on the head. He gets along well with other horses! He is a barn favorite. :)
Health: 100%! UTD with teeth, farrier says his feet are perfect, he is sound and does not seem to have any limitations. That being said, as a 14-year-old, we have to be conscious of his joints.
Drawbacks: Despite being a seasoned eventer, he does not have a solid understanding of ground poles. We have brought him from launching over them and sidestepping to calmy walking and trotting. We have not been jumping higher than cross-rails and small standards. I will require a trainer (of your choice) to be present when you're jumping unless you are a very experienced rider.
He is located in Elgin - Crossroads FM 1704 and 68. There is a lighted arena, hot and cold wash racks, large stalls, a huge field with a track and a pond.
