Rear end has made a whining noise ever since I bought it. Rear differential oil has been changed twice and there were no metal shavings found. Noise has not affected drivability at all. I’ve pulled my trailer across the country with no issues.
This is a 24-year-old vehicle and it’s not perfect. It has cosmetic issues, a crack in the windshield, the windshield washer pump needs to be replaced, and the A/C does not currently work (can be fixed).
That said, it runs strong and has solid bones. Simple, reliable drivetrain that you can work on yourself. These 3500 frames and drivetrains are getting hard to find, and this one will easily run another 100k miles.
