Nicholson Early Childhood Education Center in northwest Austin (near 620/183) is searching for lead, assistant, and floating teachers as we EXPAND our program. We are an accredited private year-round preschool program serving children from 18 months to 5 years of age with low teacher to child ratios (1:5 for toddlers; 1:8 for preschoolers) and a focus on providing our children with a preschool experience of the highest quality!
The hours for these teaching positions are 8:00 to 1:30 (Monday through Friday). Children attend 8:30 to 12:30 leaving the teachers with 1.5 hours of paid preparation, planning, and professional development time daily. Total hours for these positions are 27.5 per week. We also have limited availability in these positions for an additional 1.5 hours (8:00 to 3:00) daily to cover our “Nap & Snack” for up to 35 hours per week.
Preferred requirements for these positions include:
-3 or more years of experience teaching young children in a group setting
-CDA, AA or BA in Early Childhood Education or a related field
-commitment to developmentally appropriate practices and play-centered curriculum
-creative, nurturing, and professional disposition
-passion for teaching and planning engaging curriculum experiences for young children
Additional priority will be given to applicants with:
-experience/knowledge of emergent curriculum methods
-experience/knowledge of early childhood accreditation
