This pair is in like-new cosmetic and operational condition. Pretty sure you will never find a pair in this pristine condition.
Time to thin down my audio gear and allow another audiophile to enjoy these iconic mono block amplifiers. I have several other Pass Labs Class A mono block amplifiers that I rotate in my system. So time to allow another audiophile the opportunity to enjoy these great sounding mono block amplifiers.
The SA/1 is considered, by many, as the best amplifier built by Nelson Pass in his years at Threshold. This pair is in outstanding cosmetic condition, as can be seen in the accompanying photos, and they operate perfectly. These mono block amplifiers are in 100% factory, unmolested, unmodified, original condition.
This pair was serviced by Threshold Audio, Inc., in Aug., 2015 - replaced power supply caps, rectifiers, rail and line fuses, AC power inlets, speaker binding posts, and power switches. There was no operational reason for this service, as it was performed solely for peace of mind.
The SA/1's operate in pure class A, and use a total of forty 20 amp Motorola output transistors in the output stage. -twenty in the + rail, and twenty in the - rail.
Note: Also shown in the photos is a Threshold FET 10 HI preamplifier, with factory clear acrylic cover (very rare) and upgraded "e" power supply. This preamp is a perfect match to the SA/1 mono block amps.
