We are seeking dedicated School Food Service Workers to join our educational institution's dining services team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, serving, and maintaining a safe and welcoming food environment for students and staff. Your efforts will ensure that meals are served efficiently, hygienically, and in accordance with health and safety standards. Payrate: $15.25/hr
Responsibilities:
Following mandated recipes to prepare high-quality, nutritional meals that meet district guidelines.
Adjusting meals for students with allergies or special dietary needs.
Ensuring the right amounts of fruits, vegetables, and entrees are prepped for daily service.
Setting up serving lines, steam tables, and salad bars.
Portioning food accurately to manage inventory and ensure all students receive proper nutrition.
Operating cash registers or point-of-sale (POS) systems to process student accounts and collect meal payments.
Washing dishes, cookware, utensils, and sanitizing food preparation surfaces.
Adhering to food safety programs (e.g., ServeSafe) to prevent cross-contamination and maintain safe food storage temperatures.
Managing trash and cleaning up the kitchen areas after service.
Tracking food supplies, checking deliveries, and organizing the stockroom.
Maintaining accurate records for meals served, food usage, and student accounts.
b>Experience:
Experience in dietary aide roles or the food industry is highly desirable. Familiarity with food safety standards, food handling techniques, and customer service principles is essential. Additional beneficial skills include:
