These binos have Giant Prisms, and have unique 4 way switching knob that switches neutral density filters inside. (Dims the views.. great on the Full moon, Bright daylight viewing, or solar viewing ( with proper external filters). The extra wide angle eyepieces are not original, but work excellent with these binoculars. (30mm O.D).. they give a 11X magnification and apx 5 degree Field of View. (Original eyepieces were not salvageable, but new eyepieces work even better)
Great for General use or for ASTRONOMY.
Tripod extends very high and I use this setup standing up.
Comes with a red dot finderscope also.
Optics are very nice.. no haze or fungus.
I have tested this setup and it has nice, wide field of view, sharp images and HIGH contrast and nice formed star images.Collimation is good.
I am an amateur astronomer myself with almost 50 yrs of experience and have completely tested this setup over several nights, mount and tripod and optics are very nice.
