The “Hemi” walker is designed for folks with the use of only one arm for any reason, especially shoulder replacement or arm surgery. It provides far greater stability than a single or 4-legged cane. It will support several hundred pounds yet is extremely lightweight and is easily maneuvered with one hand. Two handles are provided, the lower one is used for assistance in rising from a chair or seat. It folds easily with one hand, is height adjustable and takes little space to store. Its biggest asset is the lateral and fore & aft stability it provides. It is appropriate after a hip/shoulder replacement where a wheeled walker is not useable or for stroke recovery mobility. Great for transitioning back to unassisted walking. We no longer need it but you might!
