The wool tartan is in perfect condition.
and the French form carved chair frames with spring form seats are exquisitely carved throughout - note the carved “pimpernel” flowers !!
They could not have persisted a century or two without some nicks, but they are strong and sturdy without cracks or repairs.
Rear high is 36 inches; 20 1/2 inches across the front; and seed height is 18 inches.
Overall, this set Is fascinatingly fabulous. You need not be a Campbell, Fraser or Grant to appreciate and admire this beautiful tartan plaid. Yesteryear’s Ralph Lauren would have approved!
