Florence Froeder Obituary (1938-2012)
Florence Elizabeth Froeder, 74, of New Fairfield, died Friday at Danbury Hospital after an extended illness. She was the wife of Ernest R. Froeder. Born in Brooklyn on May 13, 1938, she was the daughter of Helen Karas of Danbury and the after late Stephen Karas. Florence attended Washington Irving High School in Manhattan and continued her education in New York City studying art where she concentrated mainly in watercolors. A New Fairfield resident since 1968, Florence taught art in her home studio in New Fairfield for many years. She was a founding member of the former Candlewood League of Artists and participated in area art shows including the art exhibition at Boehringer-Ingelheim and the Society of Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN). Florence had also worked as administrative assistant at Danbury Hospital.
