This is a 1991 Toro Recycler Aluminum Deck Mower with Electric Start, Self Propelled and Blade Brake.
Everything on it is working. I've personally mowed a large overgrown backyard with it and can attest it's power is on par with modern 6.25-7.25 ft/lb mowers on the market. The blade brake is great when needing to move a branch or other item.
- Air filter using universal foam shape and oiled
- Throttle uses Oregon Throttle lever assembly
- Battery is off-the-shelf 2.5Ah SLA with a 3d printed holder
What is wonky:
- Shifter sticks - the gearbox(most likely) or cable might need some lubrication. It works though. Parts are still available for the transmission so it's relatively cheap to repair if needed.
- Belt cover plastic cracked
- Deck paint is cracking. It's aluminum though so it can't rust/rot out.
Do keep in mind this is a 35 year old mower. Some parts it might need will be unavailable or tough to find.
The main consumables are still readily available - you can find an air filter for $17 or use universal foam, the spark plug is a standard Champion RC12YC and the blade is a 21" Toro Recycler(new for $31). The carburetor will likely share some parts with it's Briggs cousins as well.
While repairing this, I was amazed at how well built it was. I will say this is probably one of the best residential mowers I've ever used and worked on.
