Looking for a waterfowl loving home to take in my babies.
This truly is last resort but it's time to say goodbye to my beautiful gander and his bonded drake mate. We believe the gander is a little hard of seeing but still gets around great. He's mostly just really clumsy and gets stuck places but otherwise it doesn't seem to bother him so much. I would ideally like to keep him with his drake mate, a cayuga he was raised with. If not possible, I would hope that he has the opportunity to be around other geese. I'm able to handle him well and he generally leaves people (and goats) alone, but he loves to target one of the little kids here which we've been unsuccessful at preventing. He'll require some initial attention but if you spend time with him and give him treats and pets, he should warm up to you pretty fast and once he's bonded he will be very affectionate and sweet.
We raised the hens to help with the drake ratio but ended up separating our drake anyway. We have integrated them fully with our other hens and they're so sweet and cute with people and other animals but unfortunately have begun bullying my disabled hen which we can't have. They're about 2 months old and still molting, they also had a bit of niacin deficiency so their legs are a little thiccc but not splayed or anything. They aren't laying yet but I can send verification from their Metzer order that they are, in fact, hens.
If you are starting your first flock and need additional hens for your ratio, I have 2 more that were raised with them that may be negotiable.
