Bluebell is a very sweet and gentle six-year-old Jersey cow. She loves to snuggle and be pet.
I've haltered trained her but she honestly doesn't need it. After a few times of showing her where the stanchion is, you can just open the gate and she'll run to it and stick her head through to eat. (I can send a video of this if you want) She gives me about 2 to 3 gallons a day.
She's been great, but I'm looking to get a cow that produces more than she does because I'm starting a small business.
I'm not sure when the last time was she had a calf was, but she has an orphan calf on her right now.
She has never kicked, and is perfectly fine to be milked in the stanchion by hand or with a machine. Sometimes I even milk her out in the field and she's not tied to anything as long as she's eating from a bucket.
She'll be great around kids or as a family milk cow, and you don't ever have to worry about her hurting anybody! Also she does not have horns.
* Her bag looks smaller in these pictures because a calf just nursed off of her :)
